Minimum rental period: 1 day (24 hours). Age limits: Our minimum age limit for all cars is 25 years of age whereas our maximum age limit for all cars is 70 years of age. Driver's license: All the potential renters must have a driver's license that has been issued at least a year ago and is valid in Greece. For driver's licenses of countries that are non members of the E.U., an international driver's license is required. Car-hire-kefalonia.com has the right to not rent out a car if a driver's license is not shown without providing any kind of compensation. Baby/Booster seats: All our baby and booster seats are provided free of charge. Please notice that the baby seats are available in only one size (for children from 10 months old up to 3 years of age). Due of security reasons, baby seats have to be fitted by the renter. Deposit: For safety reasons, the main driver (or any other driver stated on the rental contract) will have to present a credit card (Visa or Mastercard) on the first day of rental. Car-hire-kefalonia.com may refuse to pass over the car if no credit card is shown. Our insurance policy includes the following covers:  For death or injury to third parties up to 500.000 Euro. For material damages to third parties up to 100.000 Euro, excluding car-hire-kefalonia.com vehicles. Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W): By opting for this insurance, the renter is responsible for any kind of damage to the rented car (due of the renter's fault) up to the amount of 450.00 Euro for groups A - C, 550.00 Euro for categories C1 - F and 700.00 Euro for groups F1 - K. The wheels and the undercarriage of the car are not included in this insurance policy. These terms apply provided the damage is not due to violations of the Greek Traffic Law. Tyre Insurance: Punctured or unrepaired tyres will be replaced free of charge on all vehicles. Kindly notice that the tyre insurance does not apply if the vehicle is driven on a non paved road or with a flat tyre. Fire & Theft Insurance. Full Collision Damage Waiver (F.C.D.W): This extra insurance eliminates the excess mentioned in paragraph three and also provides insurance for the wheels and the undercarriage of the vehicle. This insurance is provided at an extra cost of 10.00 Euro per rental day for categories A - C, 12.00 Euro per rental day for categories C1 - F and 15.00 Euro per rental day for categories F1 - K. The F.C.D.W applies only if there has not been a violation of the Greek Traffic Law. 24 Hours breakdown assistance on the islands of Kefalonia & Ithaca. back to top   The insurance provided is not valid and the renter is responsible for damages when: The driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The car is driven on non-paved roads (4X4 vehicles are excluded).   The car is driven with a flat tyre. The driver participates in extemporary car races or drives recklessly. The driver exceeds the speed limits. The driver uses any kind of fuel different to the Unleaded (95 or higher). The car is driven by a person that is not stated on the car rental contract.  The driver does not return the car on the date and time agreed by the rental lease. back to top Additional Explanations: All insurances are valid only on the islands of Kefalonia & Ithaca. All traffic fines are paid by the renter. The fuel (unleaded only) is paid for by the renter. Our fuel policy is to collect the car with at least one quarter of the tank and return it with the same amount of petrol you received it on your first day of rental. Bookings are made by car category and not by the type of car.
