Safety Seat Belts When travelling, always buckle up! Don’t forget that the airbags of the car are effective only when you wear the safety seat belt. Needless to say that the kids and babies should be restrained in the special baby seats, booster seats and seatbelts. Safety must be your first priority when travelling and the Greek Police monitors closely the use of seatbelts.
Don’t Drink & Drive Driving under the influence of alcohol or any controlled substance is not only dangerous but also stupid. In Greece the blood alcohol limit is 0.05%. Above that limit you pay a fine and if you exceed the limit of 0.08 then you face criminal charges and the driver most of the cases will be detained. Random tests with breath detectors are being done at road stops.
Parking Park your vehicle only in designated parking areas.Otherwise you may pay a fine, your license plates can be removed and the car be toed.
Do not store luggage or valuables in your vehicle When driving, don’t leave your purse, bag, or any other valuable object in plain sight. Always put them in the drunk or glove compartment. There are incidents in major cities, when stopped at a traffic light, someone to brake the window and steal your objects.
